One Month to Go!

In just one month's time, I'll be releasing Alien's Mercy, my entry into the Outlaw Planet Mates shared world series. It's so good to be working with so many other authors on a project like this!

And that's not the only release of mine coming up! The Monsters After Dark anthology is out on the 26th of October, and has a story from me in it too. It's going to be a busy few weeks!

Now it's off to sleep for me (2am here!). Just needed to let this out into the world.

A Secret Science Fiction Romance Project -Claimed Among the Stars

I can finally talk about the secret! I'm among the 50 authors contributing to Claimed Among the Stars, an anthology for charity coming out next year. It's up for pre-order now, and I can hardly wait for it to be released. Fifty amazing authors, all working on this one book - it gives me chills to be included with them.

This is one of the reasons I love the science fiction romance community - I've had the chance to meet, and now work with, so many awesome people. And we also get to give to a good cause: the proceeds of Claimed Among the Stars go to benefit he National Women's Coalition Against Violence and Exploitation.

But the anthology will only be available for a limited time when it comes out, so you might want to pre-order it now. It's only 99c, it's for a good cause, and it's going to be amazing, I promise. I'll leave you with a promo image for the collection - beautiful, isn't it? Science fiction romance books can get such lovely covers.

Cover Reveal! Tied to the Alien Tyrant

Cover reveal for Tied to the Alien Tyrant, a science fiction romance

Look at that cover, isn't it a beauty? I may be biased - let me know what you think?

I love a good cover reveal, but it'll be a little while before Tied to the Alien Tyrant is out - it still needs edits, and once that's done, I can format it and set it loose on Amazon! But this is the sixth Crashland book, making the Crashland Romances my longest science fiction romance series to date, pulling one book ahead of the Dragons of Mars series. I'm excited by that.

After that it's onto the Unnamed Project which I really ought to title, and then it'll be back to Crashland for the third trilogy, the Crashland Contact Romances. I've got the three books plotted, so hopefully they'll be quicker to write than this one has been, though I can't make any promises - science fiction romance can be tough to predict.

A Beginning and an End + Science Fiction Romance News

Hopefully, anyway! Today I gor my first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and I'm feeling wiped out by it. Or, I expect, I'm feeling worn out because I'm letting go of a big worry I hadn't really noticed. Perhaps that means I'll be able to sleep a full night? That would be nice.

Science Fiction Romance News

In writing news, I reached the end of Tied to the Alien Tyrant, the third book in the Crashland Castaway Romances. There's still a lot of work to do before I can publish it, but this marks an important stepping-stone. I know it's been a long time between books, and I'm sorry about that, but this past year has been hard on me. With luck I'll be able to put that behind me and get to work seriously on my next project... I have another science fiction romance book planned in the near future, and it's very exciting! I'll let you know more when it has things like a title and a launch date!

The Crashland Colony Romance Collection is OUT!

It took longer than I expected, but the first trilogy of my Crashland Romance Saga is now on Amazon in a single volume! It's a relief after the last week of stressing over whether I'd get it out at all. The trilogy collects Auric, Torran, and Ronan into one volume (so if you've read them, you've read the whole colletion).

I'm going to see if I can fit it into a paperback, too - never tried one this big! (As the heroines say in all of my novels, lol).

Meanwhile, the ebook can begotten found on Amazon here. It's free in Kindle Unlimited too! Let me know what you think.

It's Not Quite A New Release, But...

The First Crashland Collection Crashlands on Tuesday

Which I maybe should have mentioned earlier, but it's all been so chaotic here I haven't had a chance.

This release brings together the three books that made the start of the Crashland series - Auric, Torran, and Ronan. This series a lot to me, and I don't quite know why. I love all my books, but the Crashland setting special. I'm very much looking forward to releasing the sixth book next month (I hope), and then starting work on the third trilogy!

I know it's been a long delay since my new release, and the next book is still only part done. Sorry to everyone who's been waiting on Tied to the Alien Tyrant, it will come out soon. I've figured out what's been stopping me - I needed glasses! That shouldn't have been a surprise, given how blurry everything had started looking, but somehow that hadn't occured to me. Now I just have to get used to being able to see what I'm typing without straining all the time!

That means I can hope to start catching up on my writing now, and hopefully have a somewhat faster release schedule!

The Our Heroes Sci-Fi Bundle - Curated by Melissa Snark

The hero is at the core of every great story—facing fierce foes, defying death, fighting for the greater good... The Our Heroes Sci-Fi StoryBundle celebrates the men and women who undertake an epic journey, sacrificing so that others may be spared pain and suffering.

Our collection features a robust range of science fiction books from subgenres ranging from space opera to time travel to galactic exploration. These novels have been handpicked based on their excellent reviews, professional editing and covers, and, of course, superior storytelling—all curated especially for you, our loyal readers.

Keeping with our heroic theme, a portion of our proceeds goes to benefit Hero-Dogs.org, a non-profit corporation that "improves quality of life for our nation's heroes by raising, training, and placing service dogs and other highly skilled canines, free of charge with lifetime support of the partnerships."

Happy New Year

I hope it's a good one for all of us! We're finally crawling out of the nightmare of 2020, and all eyes are on 2021 to see if it can do better. This year's been weird in a lot of ways -- for one thing, I've taken up art 🙂 So now I'm drawing characters from my books, and I'd love to hear what you think? (Please be nice, though, even if you don't like it).

It's been decades since I tried anything like this, but I'm up on Deviantart and I'm going to be starting putting stuff on Pinterest soon too. Here's the one I'm currently working on - it's an unfinished picture of Victoria, the protagonist of Tied to the Alien Tyrant (the third Crashland Castaway Romance, and my current project).

A few New Releases from my Friends

Breaths of Desire

by Octavia Kore

by L. Starfyre

Today marks a big day for me: it's been five years since I launched my first book on Amazon. Ah, what sweet days those were - I knew nothing about what I was doing, but I took the gamble anyway and threw Tiger's Hunt out of the nest.

It wasn't a huge success, of course. but it did well enough to encourage me to keep trying. I stuck with paranormal romance for a year before finding science fiction romance published Zovak with Juno Wells. Now science fiction romance is my Thing, and I love it, though I do want to go back and finish off my lion shifter series.

Five years and thirty-one books, plus a few shorter stories in anthologies. I didn't think I'd get that far! But I've just released Chained to the Alien Champion, and I am pleased and proud of what I've written. I'm already starting on the next Crashland novel, tying up the second trilogy and laying the groundwork for the third.

It's been a wonderful five years, meeting amazing people and writing stories that I love. The sfr community is fantastic, supportive, kind and helpful, and I look forward to the next five years, now that I do have some idea of what I'm doing!

I hope you'll join me on the journey.
